The Greenfingers Group
Greenfingers is now in its 29th year and has 75 members. This thriving club attracts members from our immediate villages and as far afield as King’s Lynn, Massingham and Middleton. A programme of talented speakers and visits to delightful gardens such as East Ruston and Helmingham Hall spark interest. Since 2006, the club has entered a garden exhibit in the Sandringham Flower Show and has won eight Gold Medals, including five Best in Show, which gained us the EDP trophy. Our own Horticultural Show (1st Saturday in September) also encourages residents of Grimston, Pott Row, Congham and Roydon, not only to show off their green fingered talents, but also their skills in home baking, flower arranging, art and craft and photography. We also hold a Spring Show and supper in April.
Each year members choose a local charity to support. Previous years have seen us support the Blood Bikes, Forward Trust’s Ezone workshops, Remap and Tapping House, amongst other local charities.
An Annual Grand Draw and a Plant and Cake Sale help to boost funds. We also have a stand at the Vintage Tractor Road Run Fayre, organised by Friends of St Botolph’s and held at Manor Farm in June.
We meet at 7 for 7.30pm in the Village Hall, Pott Row on the second Tuesday of each month (except January).
